Mayan Culture playing cardsSoviet UnionIt’s slightly frustrating that the good people at the fascinating English Russia website (where I spotted these cards) don’t expand on their intriguing statement that “Mayan motifs were popular in Soviet times in Russia”. Why, exactly, was that? And was this deck actually manufactured in the USSR?
